All-around application slowdown issue
Posted: Friday, March 23, 2007 8:23 AM (CST)

Hi,

We are experiencing an all around application slowdown issue suddenly. Users are able to get into the application and invoke various functions based on their privileges but it just takes too long for each screen to open up. The PO card takes about 5 mins to open up. We are running on version 7.2.

Can anybody help us understand what could be going wrong?

Thanks,

Chetan K

Can you share some details about your server, network, client workstations. Specifications I mean. Tim

Hi,

We are spread out on two servers. One contains the Server database and the application and the other hosts terminal server connections for the clients. All client MS Access databases are located on the latter server.

Users have been accessing the application via the "Remote Terminal Connection" feature in Windows.

The servers run WIN 2000 and we have installed MS Access (Win XP) version for all clients.

Users had been using the system for two months and now suddenly, we get all these response time issues.

Hope this helps.

Thanks,

Chetan

Well, that rules me out to help. We do not use Terminal Services for our clients so I have not experience in that area. Maybe someone else will jump in here to help with it. If not there are a couple of other places you can check to see if you can get some help. Intuitive if you have maintenance support is probably the best place. The other user group (Yahoo Group) forum has a lot more folks monitoring it and I personally know there are terminal service users in that group. Tim
